PacketViper can be deployed as a virtual solution on a VMWare virtual machine. Once the PacketViper deployment architecture has been designed, PacketViper will supply the customer with an image to deploy it within their VMWare environment.

When deployed virtually PacketViper can be configured either “in-line” on the network to enable proactive protection as a route hop, or can be configured in “monitor mode” using a network tap or mirror port. In either scenario the full functionality of PacketViper and Deception360 are available.

PacketViper on VMWare supports all VMWare management tools (VMWare Tools) as well as third-party VMWare monitoring and management solutions. PacketViper integrates seamlessly into the customer’s VMWare estate.

Minimum VM System Requirements

To properly install, the underlying virtual machine hardware must be compatible with the CentOS 7 operating system.

Here are the minimum supported configurations for PacketViper in various deployment scenarios.*  Based on actual network utilization, these requirements may need to be tailored for your specific infrastructure and needs.

SOHO:  1 CPU, 2 cores;  8 GB RAM;  100 GB HDD
Corporate Office:  1 CPU, 4 cores; 16 GB RAM;  250 GB HDD
Data Center:  1 CPU, 8 cores;  32 GB RAM;  500 GB HDD
